Dr Cesar Parra's Bio:
Dr. Cesar Parra: Dressage Professional
Dr. Cesar Parra is a top dressage professional who has decades of achievement in his sport. He started off as being among Colombia’s top international horse riders before moving to the United States and competing on their gold medal-winning team.
In 2011, he helped secure a Team Gold Medal withGrandioso at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Parra’s win in Guadalajara was the first of many he would bring home throughout his successful career as a new US citizen. One of Dr. Cesar Parra’s most noteworthy wins was at the 2010 Intermediare I Championship at the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions as it was his first opportunity to compete at a US Championship.
Dr. Cesar Parra now runs his own training facility, Piaffe Performance, that he founded back in 1999. It is a full-service training facility, meaning the training is for both the horse and the rider. He relies on classic German training techniques that he learned from his own classical training. These techniques are based off a simple scale that should be followed in this exact order: Relaxation, Rhythm, Contact, Impulsion, Straightness, and Collection. He also implements methods on maintaining the health and well-being of your horse so that it always complies with the rider.
Despite his work at Piaffe Performance and traveling for high-profile dressage events, Dr. Cesar Parra also returns to Colombia each year to teach several clinics in the late summer and early fall. He holds similar clinics throughout the USA and the world. He believes that teaching horsemanship is one way of bringing together different nations.
